8 Weeks Postpartum

This week I lost 1 pound! So now I have lost a total of 32 pounds! I have 8 more pounds to go to get to my pre pregnancy weight! This week I ran 2 miles 4 days this week and did my arm and ab workout as well as a leg workout on 2 of the days! I can't believe Deacon is 2 months today! He is such a great baby and sleeps through everything! 

7 Weeks Postpartum

  Down another pound! I'm slowly getting there! Some days I get frustrated just wishing I could lose the weight faster but I am happy with my one pound a week! So I have lost 31 pounds! This week I did the same routine as last week but ran a full mile without stopping! My goal this week is to do a mile and a half without stopping! Deacon is doing great! He is such and alert baby and he is wanting to roll over so bad! Dacen is really starting to take to him now and wants to hold the bottle when he sees me feeding him! It's so cute! I am still on maternity leave! I have 5 weeks left! It's going by wayyyy to fast! 

6 Weeks Postpartum

 I have now lost a total of 30 pounds! I lost one more pound this week so now I have 10 pounds to go! This week I worked out Mon, Tue, Wed, and Fri since Thur was Halloween! I ran/walked 2 miles, crunches and arms all 4 days and my leg workout 2 days. This week my goal is to run a full mile instead of stopping to walk during it! Hoping to get the last 10 pounds off by New Year's! 

5 Weeks Postpartum

     It's been 5 weeks now! This week I lost 1 pound again so now I have lost a total if 29 pounds and I have 11 more to go! This week I ran/walked 1 mile and just walked 1 mile! I did my arm workout and abs Mon-Thur and on Mon I did a leg workout! Holy smokes! I was soooo sore I could only do it on Monday after that this whole week I have been dying! But I am finally not sore so this coming week I'm going to try and do it twice! My goal is to hopefully lose atleast another pound! I think these last 11 pounds are going to take awhile! But as long as I am losing a pound a week I am happy with that! 

4 Weeks Postpartum

 I can't believe Deacom is 1 month today! I am feeling great! Unfortunately, weight loss is starting to slow down. I lost 1 pound this week. So I have lost a total of 28 pounds now! I am not really pumping much anymore but I do have Deacon breastfeed first and then I usually always have to give him formula afterwards. I will probably return my pump that I rented from the hospital this week. I have the okay to start running now so I am super excited to start back tomorrow! Hopefully, being able to exercise will help me lose the 12 pounds I need to lose to get back to my pre pregnancy weight! 

3 Weeks Postpartum

I didn't realize till just now that my 2 weeks postpartum didn't upload! It has been 3 weeks now! I'm feeling great except I think I may have a urinary tract infection! I was able to get some medicine which helped and I go to the doctor this week! As far as weightloss I lost 3 pounds this week so I have lost a total of 27 pounds! I still have 13 pounds to go! This week I walked on the treadmill 2 miles Mon-Thur and I lifted some very light weights for my arms on those days. As far as breastfeeding I am now able to pump about 2 ounces in one setting but Deacon now seems to want more than two ounces so I am still supplementing with formula! Deacon's 2 week appointment was this week and he now weighs 9.1 pounds! It hard to believe Dacen weighed more than that when he was born!

2 Weeks Postpartum

     I can't believe Deacon is already 2 weeks! Things are going great! I am feeling really good and healing great! It's been alot faster recovery with this pregnancy! As far as weightloss I lost 10 pounds this week so I have lost a total of 22 pounds since delivery. I still have 16 more pounds to lose to be at my pre-pregnancy weight. As far as breastfeeding it's going pretty good! My milk has increased from 1 ounce when I pump to 2 ounces! I bought some Fenugreek pills at GNC today to see if that will help with my milk supply. Deacon has been latching on great and the more I nurse him the more I think it helps with my milk supply. I am really surprised I am able to breastfeed with Deacon since I wasn't able to with Dacen because my milk never came in. I am however still supplementing with formula since he take about 2 1/2 to 3 ounces per feeding now! 

1 Week Postpartum

      It has been one week now since Deacon was born! This week flew by! Deacon no longer has to be under the billi lights! Yay! So with Deacon I gained 38 pounds! So far I have lost 12 pounds and Deacon was 8.2 of that! I have a long ways to go but I am feeling great! :) Breastfeeding is starting to go really good! I was able to pump 2 ounces at one time today! Sorry for the mess in the background! I was washing our sheets today and just finished changing a diaper!! 

Pumping

      My milk supply is finally increasing! After two pumping sessions I was able to  pump 2oz which is what Deacon needs for one feeding! I have been supplementing with formula. I have to say breastfeeding is hard! We will see how long I can keep it up! 

Birth Announcements

     While we were in the hospital a photographer came by to take pics! Mom365 is the name of the company! We were so impressed with the pics for being taken on a hospital bed! We bought a package that included birth announcements! Thought I'd share what they look like! 

Billi Lights

     Today we went to Deacon's first checkup and found out that his Billi levels were high so now he has to be put under the Billi lights :(  Not fun!  We had to do the same with Dacen.  We can only take him out to feed him and then he goes back under them.  I am praying his levels go down and that we don't have to have him under the lights more than a couple of days.

Deacon Ty

Deacon Ty was born on Sunday, September 22nd at 7:32pm.  He weighed 8lbs and 2 oz. and 20 1/2 inches.  I feel so extremely blessed! 

39 Weeks

Deacon Ty is here!  I was induced the morning I turned 39 weeks! Wanted to post a 39 weeks pic! Pics of Deacon to come next!

Still Waiting!

     I forgot to post yesterday! I don't have much to blog about! We have just been playing the waiting game! Waiting for our little bundle of joy to arrive! I keep thinking we will go back over to the hospital any moment! But my contractions aren't consistent enough! I have been checking out contraction apps. Know of any good ones I should download?

The Foley Balloon

Today I had my doctor appointment where he checked me! I was dilated to a 3! They decided to put a balloon in me to help dilate me and maybe put me into labor. The balloon definitely felt awkward. I came home and went for a walk to the park with my sister and Dacen. Later Steve and I took Dacen to dinner. Before we left for dinner I couldn't tell if my water broke or I just had to pee really bad or if the balloon leaked. So we decided since we were eating by the hospital we would go by and have them check things out! The balloon had ended up falling out of my cervix and I was dilated to a 4. But I was not having consistent contractions so they decided not to keep me. So we are home now! We will see what happens! No baby tonight maybe it will be tomorrow! :) Here is a pic of what the balloon looked like in case you were curious! I was very happy they were able to remove it tonight since it was no longer in my cervix.

We Have a Name Picked

     We have a name picked out for the baby! Deacon Ty Elmenhorst! Steve hung his letters on the wall yesterday! We were actually able to use the same ones from Dacen's nursery that I got at Pottery Barn! All I had to do was buy an O! I am excited about his name! We wanted another D name and I think Dacen and Deacon will be cute! We wanted something short for the middle name since our last name is so long. I have always really liked Ty so we thought it would be a perfect fit and it sounds good with Deacon! Eeek it's getting closer! My doctor appointment is tomorrow and they will check me for the first time! I can't wait to hear what they will have to say! 

38 Weeks

I made it to 38 weeks! I have been having contractions on and off all weekend! I can't wait to go to the doctor on Tuesday and see what they have to say! I have pretty much just laid in bed or on the couch all weekend just taking it easy! I'm so blessed I get to work from home! I don't think I would have it in me to go into the office tomorrow! We pretty much have everything done now! I STILL have horrible heartburn! And other than Italian Jim's pizza which I got to have last night, I haven't really had any other cravings! We are so excited and full of anticipation!

Bags are Packed

     I forgot to post yesterday so I'm posting twice today! Our hospital bags are packed and ready to go! I have been having contractions on and off all weekend! We are so excited for our little one to be here! We go to the doctor Tuesday! Can't wait to hear what he has to say! 

Rocking Chair

     I am on the lookout for a rocking chair for the nursery.  I purchased a two seat glider and ottoman with Dacen.  But it is dark brown and wouldn't look too great in a grey and yellow nursery.  I found one and on SALE too at Pottery Barn today.  But when I called to place my order the sales rep said that I would not be recieving it until January! BOOOO!  :(  So I ended up not ordering it.  So I am hoping I will be able to find one this weekend at a furniture store!  My husband decided to not go to his shooting competition.  I think the closer it got the more nervous he got about leaving.  I really don't think I will go into labor this weekend but it is nice to know he will be around in case I do now.  Contractions have slowed down today.  I have just been exhausted!  I am going to watch Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Dacen and I are going to cuddle up and fall fast asleep!  He has not had a nap today so I think he is tired like me! Here is the chair I had picked out from Pottery Barn! Hoping I will be able to find something similar tomorrow!

Birthday Party Fun

     Tonight Dacen went to his new friend Max's house for Max's 4th birthday! Max got a big bike for his birthday and Dacen loved it! I think I know what Santa will be getting him for Christmas now! They had a great time playing and eating cake! The cake was really yummy! It had a lemon filling which I have never had before! After the party we came home and finally got the curtains hung in the baby room! Ahh it felt like such a great accomplishment! It's so nice to have that marked off my To Do list!
