Day 1: No Diapers

     Today was Day 1 of NO more diapers! We HAVE got to get Dacen potty trained in the next couple of weeks.  It is mandatory that your kid is potty trained in order for them to attend the Mother's Day Out program for 3 year olds.  Mother's Day Out will start on September 3rd.  There is a couple of others that are not quite potty trained yet either so they are giving us 2 weeks after it starts to see if they catch on.  However, we are on a mission now to get him potty trained before if we can.  We have tried multiple times but I am to blame because where I think I have failed is that I always end up putting a pull up or diaper on him.  So my sister and I decided that the best way to get him potty trained would be to do away with the diapers and pull-ups! I have heard that it takes about 3 days with no diapers or pull-ups and then they are trained! So we shall see :)  Today has been a huge success!!!  I went into the office this morning so my sister actually started it off since she was watching him.  I came home around lunch and she had told me the good news about how Dacen had not had a diaper on and no accidents!  They played outside this morning and he would go pee pee in the yard! So I decided to stick with the no diapers! He went multiple times for us outside!  When Steve came home he wanted to go out to eat.  It was very tempting but I said no.  Let's eat something at home so we don't have to put a diaper on Dacen.  Good thing I made this decision because moments later he pooped in the potty!  He has even started to tell me, "I got to potty" He goes to his little potty and pulls his pants down! He doesn't always go but I think it's a wonderful start! I couldn't be happier! We have been rewarding him today with Oreos :)  I will be putting a diaper on him when he goes to bed.  But I am waiting up until the last minute. Hoping we make it through Day 2 tomorrow! I am so proud of how he has done today!
